The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step
~ In the sea of chain stores, I have found a place to hide out for an hour--BacInTyme on Main Street in my town of Fort Mill. Quiet, cozy, a fireplace blazing on a cold Autumn day. So I sit with my coffee and text my friend who had chemo yesterday, confirm a dentist appointment, check my e-mails & FaceBook. Oh, the joy of technology! You either love it or hate it. You choose to keep your distance, or you join in the world of techies. I find myself somewhere in the middle.
~ The whole techy scene slowly crept into my life when I went back to work in the early 80's. Today, the world of technology can either be a time stealer or a time saver. Or better yet--it can be your heartbeat to connecting. We can text, FB, and e-mail on our iPhones, and what's that other thing millions do? Oh yeah, Twitter. Oh, the choices.
~ The other day I heard Aunt Eunice say, "I don't have time for FaceBook!" Her friend Mabel shouted, "I don't trust FaceBook!" I gently responded, "Then girls, stay away from FB--no one is forcing you to join, but don't put me down for enjoying connecting with family, friends and fellow-writers." They backed off.
~ If the whole world of technology crumbled tomorrow, for whatever reason--I'm hearing lots of stories about that too--there is always Someone who we can connect with, day or night--no electronics necessary! And isn't that Who we should be connecting with on a regular basis anyway? My car is a 'no-phone zone', but I can ring up my Heavenly Father while I'm driving down the interstate! And the connection is always clear--no breaking-up or fuzzy noises! And as I listen to Him, I am able to stay on the right path, step by step.
Listen my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path.
Proverbs 23:19 NIV
~ Well, I just preached myself happy!
Oceans of blessings!

love it, Sharron!
I may be tech-challenged
but I know a good thing
when I see it!

I've been taking my techy-time learning the process. My Apple Orchard is user-friendly and a joy to work with (iMac, iPad, iPhone), thanks to my hubby!
