The GRITS Getaway! Friends, fun, frolic, fellowship...

~ A week ago today my daughter and three girlfriends arrived from California for the first annual GRITS* Getaway. From the moment they landed, there was a multitude of estrogen flying around in the atmosphere! Debbie started talking, only to be interrupted by Dana, followed by Bernadette...no one was able to finish a sentence for the first two hours! All at-home meals were prepared and served by chef Berni--what a treat! The rest of us glady shared in KP (Kitchen Patrol).
~ I happily gave a tour of downtown Fort Mill, stopping at BacInTyme for coffee; lunched at The Brandon House in York; dinner show at NarroWay. The highlight of the trip was our all day jaunt to the U.S. National Whitewater Center...whitewater rafting, biking, zip lining, rock climbing, a liesure lunch while watching other rafters zoom and tumble by.
~ How did we meet? The five of us were in a large singles ministry together 20+ years ago, where we eventually met our husbands! Rob became the singles pastor for a few years. Over fifteen marriages took place, and many of us are still in contact. We talk about those special times when singles of all ages came together to seek God for their lives. We have so many fond memories of days gone by, and as we grow older, we're excited for the days ahead.
~ This Saturday I will post my WIN blog--its about friendship and God's coincidences that pop up in our lives. I hope you'll take a few minutes to read it: http://www.womensinet.blogspot.com/
