The Artist's Studio

When I moved to Fort Mill almost four years ago, I felt it was time to pick up pen and pad--no, it was now computer land--so I joined The Tega Cay Writer's group and The Charlotte Writers Club. I learned a vast amount of writing knowledge from these published and aspiring writers. It's been a heartwarming journey for me. After receiving so much, in October God spoke to me to start a small group for other aspiring writers out there who needed encouragement and support to begin and continue their writing journey. Thus the beginning of The Artist's Studio in my home. Two meetings and we have already overcome the fear of failing--"What if my book is never published?", the words of well-meaning friends ("Your book isn't finished yet?"), and the unsolved mystery of the blank page ("Words, where are you? Come out, come out, wherever you are!").

As we read and listen to each other's stories, we have laughed and cried together as the power of the written word touches our hearts. This is what writing is all about. Touching, and hopefully, changing lives, for the better.
